What is a Development Board?
The article tells what a development board is? Along with its types.
Here we are back again with a striking article on development boards. You must be familiar with microcontrollers and micro processors? Are you not ? We will cover that in some other article one day. In short they are black box that do all the main processing.
Now the question comes what is a development board actually. You might have heard about the famous Arduino board . That is actually a development board. It is nothing but a PCB(Printed Circuit board) with microprocessor/ microcontroller mounted in it with many components.

Development Boards
Development boards are made for learning purposes mostly and can also be used in industrial applications as well. In this vast community of electronics there are many custom development boards also available. They are also used for prototyping before releasing the main product. They have been also used for testing and debugging purposes.
Types of Development Boards
I will not be talking about the historical old school development boards.(I was bad with history and I hated it.). I will be mentioning the once that are used these days in 2020 practically.( In case you are reading this article in 2035. Please don't ) maybe I will update it.
So nowadays there is hype of development board such as the Raspberry Pi, Arduino, STM 32, Teensy, NodeMCU , PIC, etc...
There are also some other boards such as
- Particle Photon
- Tessel
- Adafruit Flora
- LightBlue Bean
- Udoo Neo
- Intel Edison
So above are some development board names. We will discuss multiple development boards exclusively in another blog.
Let me know what you think about the blog. Was it helpful? hope to see you around reading another article here. Sayonara(goodbye)
