About ME:
Engineering, with Electronics and Telecommunication as my major. I study in Maharashtra Institute of
Tech.(MIT) Pune, a college under the University of Pune.
I was born on August 16th 1987 in Mumbai and was brought up in Jalgaon, a city in the North of
Maharashtra state of India. Then I was fortunate enough to get admitted into a college like MIT, which
stands in the top ten private technical schools of India.
I belong to a family where my Father, Mr Vijay Gangwal is a businessman and mother Mrs Pratima
Gangwal is a Chartered Accountant. My younger brother, Prany is in high school.
My Passion:
Robotics has been my passion since my first year. In the last three years I have worked
on about four robotic projects and presented a paper on robotics too. The project s and paper together
had got some four to five national level prizes. My journey in robotics has been driven by the zeal and
passion that I have for robots and technology.
Journey through Robocon:
member for the college team for Robocon 07, one of the most prestigious national events in robotics
in India. That year I learned a lot of things working under the expert guidance of our staff members and
seniors. Working in the state of the art laboratory with the technical and financial support of the college,
We learnt a lot and had a wonderful experience.
This year I got an opportunity to take leading role in the team and also be one of the three participants
of Robocon 08. This year we started working hard from august’07 when the problem statement was
released and then got involved in the activity to a great extent. Working with a team of more than
eighteen members along with the technical guidance from four to five staff members from different
disciplines is a great experience for budding engineers like us. We worked for more than twelve hours
a day and got to understand many practical aspects of technology when we did mistakes and undone
them and remade the things.
It feels like a CREATOR when your robots perform and give you the returns of the hard work. For me
it was the same happiness a mother would feel when her child succeeds and she feels all her efforts
and pains to give him birth are paid for. Our robots achieved GOVINDA ( Victory Condition) thrice in the
domestic tournament. This was a nation record and no other Indian team has ever completed victory
in any of Robocon matches held in India. Our team was also the HIGHEST SCORER of the tournament.
As we were the finalists we shall be representing our India in International Robocon’08. This is a great
pride for me and I along with the Team will be working day and night to bring glory to the nation and
I am Vipresh Gangwal, age 21yrs, currently pursuing my Bachelors Degree in
In my second year at my college, I was selected as a team our team.
As I plan my career in robotics, I am glad that such active participation in event like ROBOCON will
increase my employability and also if I plan to take up a Master’s Degree or PhD, Universities will
consider my this to be a major plus point. Also the practical knowledge I will get will be of great use to
me. This will surely provide my an edge over others.
