The SmartElex Serial Basic Breakout is a user-friendly USB-to-Serial adapter featuring the CH340C chip and a convenient USB-C connector. With USB-C, you’ll benefit from up to three times the power delivery of previous USB versions, offering 1.5A and eliminating the hassle of correctly plugging in the cable thanks to its reversible design. This adapter is compatible with both 5V and 3.3V systems and typically auto-installs on most operating systems without needing additional drivers.
The Serial Basic converts serial signals to USB efficiently using the CH340C IC and features the standard DTR/RXI/TXO/VCC/CTS/GND pinout, making it ideal for debugging tasks like working with GPS modules. A jumper on the back allows you to switch the VCC output voltage between 3.3V and 5V, providing flexibility for various projects. By default, the board outputs 3.3V with 3.3V signals.
