PCB Manufacturing Service

The ROBU PCB Manufacturing Services is made up of different services provided through our website. One of our Services enables you to upload a Gerber zip file to our website and view it in 2D.  If you want to turn your PCB design into reality, you can place an order with us and we will manufacture it for you as per your requirements.  

Ordering 

(A) Placing an order – To order the PCB that you designed or any other design you found through other services, you can upload your Gerber zip file. Then, you can select the specifications required to manufacture and, if applicable, the quantity of the PCB you order. As the next step, we ask you to provide us with the information we need for the delivery of the PCB. Finally, you will be prompted for the information required to initiate the payment. 

(B) Unacceptable orders, cancellation of orders by us – There are, however, technical or other reasons why ROBU may not accept or may cancel your order during the entire ordering process, even after our acceptance of your order. Such reasons can be but are not limited to, the unfeasibility of the model, an infringing feature of your design, or the destination of the delivery you indicated in your order. In case we cancel your partial or entire order, we will contact you via email and, except in cases of fraud or other violations of our policies, issue you a full refund for the canceled item(s). 

(C) Prices – Prices are subject to change at any time prior to ROBU’s completion of your order. The price shown in the web form on entering the order will be binding only upon confirmation and after the submitted documentation files have been checked. ROBU reserves the right to change the price or cancel the order if the documentation submitted does not comply with the data entered in the order input screen. In these cases, we will notify you of the changes. If your order has been canceled, and you have already paid for the order, ROBU will issue a refund to the original payment method.  

ROBU is not responsible for pricing, typographical, or other errors in any offer by ROBU and ROBU reserves the right to cancel any orders arising from such errors. 

(D) Payment and price – For orders paid for, ROBU will begin production after authorizing and holding payment.  For orders paid for via bank transfer, ROBU will begin production after the funds arrive in ROBU’s bank account. In the event that the selected payment method fails for any reason, ROBU reserves the right to process the payment again or require you to provide an alternative method of payment. 

(E) Acceptance – After accepting your order we will send you an order confirmation by e-mail to the address associated with your ROBU Account. The order confirmation will be effective as of the date on which the order confirmation is sent to you. If we cannot accept your order we will contact you by email. You should verify the details in the confirmation email. If there are errors you should contact us as soon as possible by sending an email to customer service. 

(F) Shipping – as per robu.in shipping policies. 

(G) Cancellation & Return – The customer acknowledges that any product provided by ROBU is of custom design and therefore, there is no return on any item & also, due to the personalized nature of our Services (i.e. the PCB is manufactured by us based on your specifications and we manufactured it for you on demand), you cannot cancel your order once it is placed. Orders are fulfilled using the Gerber file version that existed at the time of purchase. The order cannot be cancelled once it has been put into manufacturing. If there is any problem with our goods, just submit a ticket at support.robu.in and provide pictures/videos of the product problem, then we will check it. If the quality problem is indeed caused by ROBU, we will make a refund for you.  

(H) Content Policy violations – If we determine that your model violates our Content Policy prior to our service, we will refuse to manufacture and issue a refund. If we determine that your design violates our Content Policy after it has been manufactured, we will not ship the PCB and may not issue you a full refund. 

In what cases will there be charged extra?

Basically, all the prices are based on the online calculator, but there are some exceptions. For different designs and some special processes, there might be extra costs that occur during the file review process, which cannot be calculated online. Here are the cases that might bring you extra cost.

Extra Cost for Different Designs in One Gerber File

If there is more than 1 design in your file, there will be an extra cost for it.

What Will Be Regarded as Different Designs?

Basically, if the traces/ silkscreen/ solder mask in your PCB is different, as long as it can be separated, no matter by v-cut, millings, or drill holes, it will be regarded as different designs even there are traces between the boards.

If the PCB does not need to be separated, that is, it does not need to be V-cut and there are no slots or stamp holes for separation, but on condition that the number of designs is more than 5, it still needs to be charged as different designs as well, and the number of the designs shall not exceed 10 designs on one board.

One more thing, sometimes, even all your PCBs look the same, but if there is no connection to make them into one panel, and it needs to be sent as a single piece, it will be also considered as different designs.

Charges for V-Cut on Small-Sized Board

Charges for V-cut on small-sized board (small batch/ order quantity which is larger than 50 pcs)

For sample order (The order quantity is less or equal to 50pcs), if it is made with panel（panelised by v-cut lines or millings）, as long as the size for single PCB is smaller than 15 mm per side (or equal to 15mm), then it will be charged ₹3000 for per design.

Milling Fee (no matter what shape it is):

No extra milling charges for orders less than 1000pcs, but an extra fee of ₹3000 will be charged if it is between 1000-2000 pcs since it will take a very long time to get it finished during the milling process. For order less than 1000 pcs, if there are too many slots, we might also charge you a milling fee.

Routing Fee

If there are too many slots to be milled, it will take a very long time to get it finished during the CNC routing process. For an extra fee, it depends on how many cutouts are on the board. To reduce customers’ cost, we won’t charge extra cost for slots if they are round and the size is smaller than 5mm. But for the slots that meet any of the five situations as below, an extra cost will be charged. If it is an order for 5 pcs single board, the extra cost is ₹1500 for each order. If it is an order for 5 panels or more than 5 pcs, the extra cost is ₹3000 per design for each order. For batch orders, it is charged by its dimension, generally, ₹1500 per square meter.

1. Slots which are not round;
2. Slots which are round but the size is larger than 5 mm;
3. Slots whose size is larger than 5mm;
4. Slots more than 50 in each board;
5. Slots distribute throughout no less than 2/3 of the board.

ENIG for the Whole Board

To cover the whole PCB/ all the surface with ENIG, the cost for it will be much higher than to cover it with the pads only. For an extra fee, it depends on the dimension of the board. Basically, for SAMPLE orders, it will be no more than ₹3000 per design. For batch order, it is charged by its dimension, generally ₹6000 per square meter.

Extra Cost for Removing the Bur and Round the Corner etc:

For an individual PCB of very small size, it is hard to make it with a very smooth edge, so we need to remove the bur and round the corner so that it will look better. But since the size of it is very small, and the quantity of it is large, it will take a very long time to do that.

An extra cost will occur when the PCB has a quantity of over 30/50 pieces.

1/4/6-layer board is over 50 pieces and 2-layer board is over 30 pieces.

For the board with a size of 1.5×1.5cm-3x3cm, the extra fee is ₹6/pcs.

For the board with a size smaller than 1.5×1.5cm, the extra fee is ₹10/pcs.

Board Fee

Basically, the basic cost for the PCB is consist of engineering fee + board-fee, for the single PCB that is within or equals to 102*102mm, there is an engineering fee charged only (special price), but when it is panelized (i.e. PCB has V-Cuts or routed online with mouse bites between boards), it will turn into its original cost of Engineering fee + board-fee. So, we may ask you to pay for the extra cost for the board fee when it falls into this category.

Extra Cost for Orders with Special Process

Basically, for some PCB, if it is not with the standard options and not the ones that people commonly choose, for example,1 layer,1.6 thickness, Red, HASL (with lead),1 oz copper, then it will take a longer time to get enough such orders to combine onto the same panel, and there will be an extra charge for it.

Extra Cost for Too Many Drillings Holes

 There is no extra cost for less than 100,000 holes per square meter when you place small batch order. But if it exceeds that, for 1/2 layer, ₹90 per 10,000 holes will be charged, while ₹125 per 10,000 holes will be charged for 4/6 layer. And for the extra fee of exceeding holes less than 10,000 will be charged as 10,000.

The minimum charge for drilling holes in small batch order is ₹3000, that is, for the fees less than ₹3000 will be charged ₹3000.

If there are more than 4000 holes in every piece/set in a sample order, an additional drilling fee of ₹3000 will be charged per design. Note that there is no expedited service for boards with too many drilling holes.

The Services and the Web Site may only be used for the intended purpose for which such Web Site and Services are being made available. Except as may be otherwise indicated in specific documents within the Web Site, you are authorized to view, play, print, and download documents, and videos found on our Web Site for personal, informational, and non-commercial purposes only. You may not modify any of the materials and you may not copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer or sell any information or work contained on the Web Site. Except as authorized under the copyright laws, you are responsible for obtaining permission before reusing any copyrighted material that is available on the Web Site. The Web Site, its Content, and all related rights shall remain the exclusive property of ROBU or its licensors unless otherwise expressly agreed. Intellectual Property  

The PCB design documents used for manufacturing were provided by customers and the responsibility of ROBU was to manufacture the PCB board according to the design of the customers. 

Customers shall guarantee their ownership and the related intellectual property rights of the design document provided, which should not infringe anyone else’s intellectual property rights or any other legal right, such as patent rights, copyright, trademark right, and so on. 

Any infringement or illegal problem arising from the documents provided by customers, which causes influence or loss to us, customers will bear all related responsibilities, and ROBU will keep the rights to claim compensation from customers. 

Confidentiality 

Suppliers and customers have to keep all information they receive about the other party confidential, besides the open or copyright owner-authorized information. 

“Confidential Information” means all confidential, proprietary or non-public information, technology, and proprietary materials of a Discloser, including but not limited to: drawings, designs, processes, computer software; financial and sales information; information about business relationships or contracts, and customer information. 

Limitation of Liability 

IN NO EVENT SHALL ROBU BE LIABLE TO YOU OR TO ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOST PROFITS, LOST SAVINGS, OR LOSS OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY) ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO ANY PRODUCT, EVEN IF ROBU HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. SUBJECT TO THE FOREGOING, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE LIABILITY OF ROBU RELATING IN ANY WAY TO ANY PRODUCT EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE FOR THE PRODUCT, REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY ASSERTED FOR SUCH LIABILITY, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, WARRANTY, OR OTHERWISE. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE AMOUNTS PAYABLE FOR THE PRODUCTS ARE BASED IN PART ON THESE LIMITATIONS, AND YOU FURTHER AGREE THAT THESE LIMITATIONS SHALL APPLY NOTWITHSTANDING ANY FAILURE OF THE ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF ANY LIMITED REMEDY.
