The Mini APM3.1 Flight Controller with Power Module for Multicopter FPV board is a modified version of the APM2.6 board but made to be as small as possible. Â Measuring just 35×35 mm big it still includes the same features and sensors as the full-size APM2.6 board making this a great system to use where space and weight are important.
It is an Ardupilot compatible flight controller on a 35mm x 35mm board. It uses high-quality sensors and is fully compatible with the Arduplane or Arducopter software. Use the APM mission planner to upload new software, configure the flight control board and also use it to plan autonomous missions.
Despite the small size of this board, it has the same connectivity as the full-size Ardupilot mega board, so you can use accessories such as the APM power module, GPS/Compass, Telemetry, and OSD. Breakout cables are provided for all of the connections on this mini flight controller.
Features :
- Version: V3.1 (upgrade version of APM2.6)
- Â 8 Channel PWM input
- Â 8 motor outputs
- Â 12-way Auxiliary input and output
- Voltage and current measurement configured for 5V ADC.
- Â Supports GPS, compass, telemetry and power module
- Â Onboard connections JST-SH with 1.0mm pitch
- Â Compatible with official Firmware and Groundstation.
- Use APM firmware and ground station, no need to modify

PROS: Best of APM in a small form factor. Board quality is excellent. Comes with all necessary connectors and power module. No on-board compass which is of no use anyway in a small frame, so no headache of disabling/cutting tracks. Easy to set up with Mission planner. I2C/GPS powered by USB, so easy to setup without powering the board from main power.
CONS: Connector wires are not silicon based. No on-board OSD, so have to use an external one which can mean additional weight.
NOTE: Board will not be recognised/supported on MP, bust that’s normal. Just select to load firmware option manually to select 3.2.1 and get going.
Arming the board takes some experience with MP. Once have it figured out, there’s so many settings to play with the firmware. You cannot go wrong with this board. Though just 8-bit processor, it’s still pretty competitive when it come to UAV setup’s. Dot use it for race flight setups. Go for any F4 with osd and pdb. But for UAV’s this is still among the best.
