Bosch has long been a leader in barometric pressure sensors, and the latest is the Adafruit BMP390 (also known as BMP390L). This advanced sensor offers improved precision for environmental sensing and serves as a reliable altimeter. It supports both I2C and SPI configurations, with a remarkable relative accuracy of ±3 Pascals (about ±0.25 meters of altitude), making it superior to its predecessors, the BMP280 and BMP388.
Designed for applications like drones and wearables, it measures temperature with ±0.5°C accuracy. The BMP390 comes pre-soldered onto a custom PCB in the STEMMA QT format, allowing easy interfacing with development boards through solderless connections. It also includes a 3.3V regulator and level shifting for compatibility with 3V and 5V microcontrollers.
Features:
- High Precision: : Relative accuracy of ±3 Pascals (approximately ±0.25 meters of altitude).
- Low Altitude Noise: : Low noise as low as 0.1 meters.
- Dual Interface Options: : Supports both I2C and SPI configurations for flexible connectivity.
- Fast Conversion Time: Maintains quick data readings similar to previous models.
- Temperature Measurement: Measures temperature with an accuracy of ±0.5°C.
- STEMMA QT Compatibility: Soldered onto a PCB in the STEMMA QT form factor for easy interfacing.
- Compatible with SparkFun Qwiic I2C connectors for solderless connections.
- Integrated Voltage Regulation: Includes a 3.3V regulator and level shifting for use with 3V or 5V logic microcontrollers.
- Versatile Applications: Suitable for drones, quadcopters, wearables, and projects tracking height above sea level.
