ADM7170 is a CMOS, low dropout linear regulator (LDO) that operates from 2.3V to 6.5V and provides up to 500mA of output current. This high output current LDO is ideal for the regulation of high-performance analogue and mixed-signal circuits operating from 6V down to 1.2V rails. Using an advanced proprietary architecture, the device provides high power supply rejection and low noise and achieves excellent line and load transient response with just a small 4.7µF ceramic output capacitor. Load transient response is typically 1.5μs for a 1mA to 500mA load step. It is used in applications such as regulation to noise sensitive applications: ADC and DAC circuits, precision amplifiers, PLLs/VCOs, clocking ICs, communications and infrastructure, medical and healthcare, industrial and instrumentation.
Features:
- Low noise is 5µV rms typical at (100Hz to 100KHz, TA = 25°C)
- Power supply rejection ratio is 60dB typ at (100KHz, VIN = 4V, VOUT = 3V, ILOAD = 500mA)
- Dropout voltage is 42mV typical at (ILOAD = 500mA, VOUT = 3V, TA = 25°C)
- Fixed output voltage accuracy is ±0.75% at (ILOAD = 10mA, TJ = 25°C)
- Quiescent current is 0.7mA typ at (ILOAD = 0µA, TA = 25°C)
- Shutdown current is 0.25µA typical at (EN = GND, VIN = 5V, TA = 25°C)
- Stable with small 4.7µF ceramic output capacitor, supported by ADIsimPower tool
- Adjustable output from 1.2V to VIN − VDO, precision enabled, adjustable soft start operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, output voltage is 3.3V
- The package style is 8-lead LFCSP-WD
