The Adafruit Ethernet FeatherWing provides wired internet connectivity for Feather boards, ideal for permanent installations where wireless isn’t feasible. It uses the WIZ5500 chip, which communicates over SPI with a single chip select (CS) pin. The FeatherWing supports Ethernet client functionality (server not supported) and is compatible with the Arduino Ethernet2 library, offering automatic DHCP setup. The RJ-45 jack features link and activity LEDs for connection status. While it doesn’t support Power over Ethernet (PoE) natively, a PoE splitter can be added for power. The Adafruit Ethernet FeatherWing is compact (59.2mm x 22.8mm) and lightweight (10g), and requires simple soldering of header pins
