Upgraded from the stock Creality v4.2.2 board to SKR MINI E3 V3.0
In pursuit of upgrading my Ender 3 to print faster, more accurately, and at higher temps, I purchased this board with the intention of running Klipper firmware and input shaping in addition to the “silent” stepper drivers.
I did flash Klipper instead of using the Marlin firmware that came with it.
At this point, I’m almost certain that I’ve spent more than twice on “upgrades” to my Ender 3 compared to its original purchase cost 😛
As soon as I had this board installed and running Klipper, I was blown away by how quiet the stepper motors had become. Even after turning off the “StealthChopâ„¢” mode and sticking with the default “SpreadCycleâ„¢” mode (better torque and accuracy), the noise increase was not much and still significantly quieter than the stock Creality v4.2.2 board. The difference is huge, like going from all the fans on full blast to turning them all off (or at least close to that).
I even ordered the ADXL345 Acceleration sensor for input shaping from Robu Recommended buy if you ask me.
